Battle with the squirrels

G made a birdfeeder for our garden, since then, we have a lot of birds visiting us. It is fun to watch and delighted to see so many different birds. So far we have the “red wing black birds” (bright orange with white stripes on the wings), “doves”, sparrows, crackles (dark blue head with black body), cardinals (hot red colour), wax wing carnival (light brown and with a rooster comb on the head). We watch them fighting and enjoying the bath on the waterfall. Visitors that we do not want were the squirrels. They climbed the steel pole and onto the birdfeed just eat away all the sunflower seeds. G put a pie plate to block them from climbing onto the birdfeeder with no luck, so he decided to grease the pole with car grease. We didn’t see the squirrels for awhile and we thought that scared them away BUT this morning I saw a squirrel climbed on the cider trees and tried to jump onto the greased steel pole to try to get to the birdfeeder. Ha Ha, guess what? It landed on the pole all right but it couldn’t grib the pole because of the grease, it felt flat on his back all the way down. I have not seen that squirrel so far. My GG won the battle! :)
