Remember that tai chi is more than just about the movements of the body. It is probably a huge majority the mental concentration and stretching that you can't see by watching someone. Ask lots of questions.

I want to take up tai chi also, but for the actual "qi" health benefits instead of it being only a "fluid form of yoga". But because it's so deep and involved, I will be extremely picky in finding a proper instructor.

You are right. The instructor we had was a substitute. His English was too bad, we spent all of our concentration in trying to understand him instead of the "Tai Chi"! We'll try again this week, if the real teacher doesn't show up, I think we'll be the first drop out! The trouble is the class is all Canadian and we're the only Chinese!

Tai Chi is also good for blowing an enemy across the room without touching them. I saw that in a movie once.
