Worry!

G's (my husband) health is not doing well for the last year. He has just diagnosed with some kind of disc disease through the entire lumber spine. He's constantly in pain. physio therapy treatment is his regular routine now. I'm recently looking in the Tampur Pedic Foam Bed and hope it will help him sleep better. The trouble is that it takes a month or so to get use to and Canada doesn't have any trial period. It costs over $2,500.00 for a double size mattress. The pillow costs $175.00/ea. I have done some researches on the web and can only go by the testimonies. But, then, all testimonies are positive. What should I do? Who can I ask for advises? We have asked the physio therapist and she is not sure either.

Depending on where you're getting your testimonies from, they might be heavily skewed as promotion for the company. See if you can find some online forums that talk about that kind of bed -- get Cin to help you out, if you're not sure how to approach that.

And you might consider getting a TempurPedic foam mattress LAYER (some inches thick) instead of the whole mattress being made of that expensive material. Try Costco for some similar "memory foam" products, and remember that there are other companies doing the same thing; if you buy TempurPedic, you're paying a lot for the brand name. I found that Costco had a similar pillow for around $60 instead, but I'm not sure how different that would be compared to "leading brand"; maybe a lot, maybe nothing.

You might try talking to the doctor who diagnosed the disease in the first place and see what they recommend as remedy, besides visiting a physio regularly. They might suggest certain home products, and at least they'll know of many other patients with the same condition and can tell you what's been tried.

My wishes to Mr. G.

Thank you, we'll talk to the physio therapist this week first and go from there on. :)
