My first experience
My second week as the Director had experience back stabbing. A girl in the kitchen had come to me with a request in confident. She told me “We girls in the kitchen would like to wear baseball caps instead of hairnets. Hairnets are so ugly and out dated, we feel baseball caps just like the other franchises would look must smarter. We don’t feel comfortable to speak to Mary or Eva and would like you to speak for us at the Board Meeting? Could you not mention my name at all?” I agreed that I would bring this to the meeting and keep her name in confidential. As we were degusting this, Eva snuck behind the girl that I was talking to and heard part of the conversation. Innocently, thinking I shouldn’t hide anything between Directors, I told Eva the girl’s request and told Eva that I’ll bring it up at the Board Meeting. During the meeting, Eva brought the issue up by saying, “I don’t like the hairnets the girls are wearing, I think they are ugly and we should replace them with caps.”, Mary right away agreed and asked Eva to look into it. I could tell Eva and Mary had already had their discussion before hand. I right away told the Board that was my issue with the girl in confident and Eva over heard it. I guess Eva and Mary were trying to tell me that was not my business!
Learn by Mistake
I’m so stupid, innocently, thinking if I tell Ferella and Perry about the alcohol abuse that happen when they were sitting with Eva and Louie that Saturday night will help them to realize not to get themselves into this situation again. Well, I was wrong! During the telephone conversation, Perry didn’t agree with me by saying that I shouldn’t get into this because we are FRIENDS and I should turn my cheek and ignore it. I didn’t agree and at the end I told him this conversation is CONFIDENTIAL and he agreed. Stupid me! believed in him. Guess what? Ferella and Perry told Eva and Mary. Now, they are very angry and constantly through cheap shots at me, maybe they think that I should turn my cheek and ignore it?!

Yeah, people can be like that sometimes. And sometimes you just have to realize it and play them in a way that will take them by surprise, by assuming they will be as backstabby as they are.
