Bad News
Okay, my cholesterol measured at 7.5 which is a BAD BAD news. Now I have to take a pill once a day for two months or until it goes down to 5.2 or at least 6. No moon cakes for me! :( No seafood of any kinds! From now on all lean meats and vegetables. Brown rice? Wonder what it tastes like? Any good vegetable recipes out there? :(

August Festival

Mmmm, Good! This is the month for Moon cakes. Love them with yokes! My mom used to order them a year in advance when we were in Hong Kong. They came in cases with various variaty. When we got sick of them, my brothers used to cut them in small pieces and used them as weapon to throw at each others. It was FUN!!!! We did not have a BB gun those days! I WANT TO BE A KID AGAIN! :)

O My Goshee! My friends in Singapore found a dancing web site and guess WHAT? Mr. G and I were in it. We looked so stupid because we were just learning then. What happen was, we went to this Chinese organized group at the airport hotel for Christmas dance five years ago. Somehow, someone must had video the whole event for advertising, I guess, and put it in the web site. My friends were so surprised that they forwarded to my son and my son forwarded to me. I almost felt off the chair. I’m so embarrass! Haha! Well, we are going dancing tonight, I’m going to wear my new dress since we’re going to make a fool of ourselves any way. :D

Does anyone know what is a receiver logic board assy.? Is it easy to install? It is for a garage door opener! :(

Last Monday I did all the ironing at home. Talk about ironing. I wonder what kind of material Dave’s shirts? It felt like canvas material. It’s very hard to iron and wrinkle easily. All his shirts are like that. Hougee, is this the material people wear now a day? Is this what you sell? I think he bought them at Gap!?

Do U believe in God?

I have asked the Priest to bless couple crosses for my children this Sunday. As a mother, a true believer, I always hope guardian angels will be by their side when they are in danger. I guess "Hope" is what we live and believe in. Without hope, there isn't anything to look forward to! :(

Little thing
I was surprised this morning when I found out Mr. G had ironed all my uniform for me last night before he went to bed. Not just ironed the clothes for me but did it before he went to bed? I was so touched. I said to myself, " I have no reason not to love this man." Such little thing and yet the feeling is so great. It is true that he doesn’t express himself by saying "I Love U" or "commenting the meals that I made him" which I got mad at him for not saying, but he did and does lots of endless things for me that make me feel ashamed of my complains. Really, I’m not perfect and why should I expect him to be? I guess the key word of our marriage is "Content"? =)

Yesterday was a nice day starting with sunny and cool. Duke and I had breakfast at the backyard. We found a frog in the pond and BABY fishes. Our heater broke last winter and some of the gold fish did survived over the cold long winter and now they are parents. There is a small brown rabbit somewhere in the backyard. There was a grey rabbit but I think Dave scared it away. Went to get a hair cut, came home and made dinner and homemade soup. It was nice to have just the fan on in the house and had all the windows wide open for fresh air. Forgot to iron my uniform and had to do it this morning FAST! Looking forward for next Monday. We do need some quiet time for ourself once awhile. :D How was your weekend? :)

ACCENT! What accent?

I have a heavy accent, one thing about blogging is nobody can hears me. The guys here make fun of me all the time. People would call back and indicated that they have spoken to a Chinese lady and I hated that. Not because I’m not proud to be a Chinese, is because of my accent that distinguish me. I often wonder if my accent sounds horrible? When I answer the phone at home, people often asked to speak to my mom! I listened to the telephone recorder at home and I hated my voice. My voice does sound young. Do your parents have the same problem with accent?

I have decided to take all Mondays off for the rest of the year. Vacations of course! That would leave me with only one week left for x'mas. I'll be able to enjoy a little bit of summer that is left. I need a plan: Have breakfast, lunch: coffee/tea, read newspapers by the deck or in the sunroom when weather permitted. I might do a little window shopping in between lunch and dinner or I might just have lunch in the Mall. I might do some gardening and spend time with Duke in the park. I might bring hot lunches to Mr. G's work place as I always did. We seem to have a short summer this year? It will be nice if cin is with me then we can go down to the harbor front shopping. I would look funny and feel lonely if I go down there by myself. All my friends work 9 to 5 or just too far from me. :P Any suggestions?

Fish Dinner Tonight

I’m going to have fry red snapper, red, green peppers, fry peanuts with sweet and hot sauce tonight. Mmmmm yum yum. This is one of my favourite. Stir fry bok choy with olive oil for side dish. :D

I’m scare!

We are going to see the doctor next Monday result of the blood tests last week. We been told that both of us have high cholesterol. I’m scare because this is my second calls from two doctors. I’m so scare! Wish me luck!

A New Roof

Five of the houses on our street are going to have new roofs installed in two weeks. We have called in a lot of people for estiments. They are range from $3,400 to $5,400. Since we don’t need a Cadillac roof, we pick the $3,600. They are well known companies and they all contract out for the jobs. Some didn’t even return call because this is a busy season now. We got one guy very frustrated and angry because we refused to sign the contract right away. He tried to pressure Mr. G to sign. He claimed that he has to pay for his own gas, use own vehicle and own time to get the estimation out. He will not get pay until someone signed. Mr. G told him that he will not sign under pressure and also needed to talk to the other four owners. He kept asking Mr. G "WHY?, I’ll match the price with the lowest company!" Mr. G told him, first, he was way too high on the price, second, why should I sign with you if you are the same price as other?" He was so angry and wouldn’t leave. I thought he might through a stone to the window or something! Anyway, we all got together last Sunday and decided to sign up with this one company that has been around for 15 years for a reasonable price. I can’t imagine if I have to do this all by myself. This is the time we need the guys around! Hee Hee!

Swearing

Why do firemen in general like to swear? There are a few particular ones, swear on every single sentences. Just loves to use the f— word. I got so stress out listening to them. Thank God they only come once awhile. I think swearing make them feel that they are in power and manly. If they are angry, I can understand they have to take out the frustration, but, they aren’t angry at all. I hope I'm not going to be like Kevin, picking up the BAD habit! Got to be strong! = (

WHAT? No Water?

Our water has been turned off because of construction outside. Well, I couldn’t flush the toilet since this morning. I guess I have to take my dirty dishes home to wash. See, how we take little thing like this for granted. Got to find a way to make tea for ME? Steal if I have to!

Gold Digger

In my youth days I never went to a dentist until I was 21. I was told to get a check up because I was pregnant. I had healthy gum with NO cavity. So, I started to go to dentist regularly, now I have cavities, root canal, gum treatment and was told last week that we all suppose to brush our tongue daily? They suspected that I grind my teeth at night now suggested that I need a mouth guard. I can picture myself looking sexy at night!!! They wanted my permission to access my dental benefit’s plan! YES, OVER MY DEAD BODY! I’m suppose to go to the dentist every four months? I beginning to wonder if they are bunch of GOLD DIGGERS? I wonder what kind of money they get out of these treatments? Any dentist in your family?
