Christmas is coming and so do the thieves. I have several life experiences since I work in the retail store. The most recent one was last week. Two Italian young men came to look for Mont Blanc pens. They were exchanging conversation in Italian. One was trying to get my attention away while the other one grabbed the pens out of the show case when I was talking to his friend. He slipped one pen in his sleeve while he was holding on the other one pretending he is looking at the pen. I saw all these at the corner of my eyes. I turned, grabbed both pens from him and put them back in the show case and continued on my presentation. I was SO ANGRY but I kept cool. I turned to him with a straight face, asked him if he is trying to pull a fast one on me in an angry voice. It’s not so much of the store loosing the money, it made me felt that he is trying to tell me that I’m so stupid that he can steal in front of me! I felt insulted and that’s why I was angry. I should have let him stole the pens and called the police. Then, I have to write a report, descript what they look like even thought we have a video camera in the store and all these that they might still get away. Last year, I let an old man got away with a crystal ornament because I didn’t see him taking it but I knew he did which I’m still angry at myself. Thank God it’s just a part-time job.

Recruits Class of 2004 picture was taken yesterday. We have total of 27 young men and one woman. They’ll be ready for the world two weeks before Xmas. I think I’ll start closing the office as of December 22 and will reopen after the New Year. The next recruit class will be in the spring 2005. Anyone wants to become a firefighter? :D

I took my Duke to the vet yesterday because he is showing symptom of diabetic. He has been drinking a lot of water since he became blind. He cries every night for at least half an hour before going to sleep. All the pets were sitting quietly in the waiting room except Duke, he was whining all through the time. I could felt the cats were irritated that they turned and stared at him. I was embarrassed so I got up holding Duke in my arm and walked around hopefully he will quiet down. But he didn’t, so I went up to the counter asked when will be Duke’s turn. Luckily, he was next. They took blood and urine sample and will get the result by Monday afternoon. I hope everything is fine! sigh …..

Have you ever check out what people hang on the car front mirror? Some people really go to the extreme. I have seen: crystal ball, flower wreath, huge stuffed dices, baby shoes, handcuffs, cross, garter belt, chain, sunglasses, key chain, Chinese Fung Choi, mirror, stuffs that are very dangerous. I admit I hang a rosary but that is as far as I’ll go. Anything that is big I’ll hang it near the glove box. More interesting is to check out what people do when they are driving: putting on make-up, drinking hot coffee, checking the map book, typing on lab top, reading, shaving, brushing the teeth, re-organizing the front seat, singing out loud, talking on the phone, smoking, fighting with the person next to. Someone told me that they saw a lady breast feeding the baby. Ha Ha! What do U do?

Last Sunday when I was helping out at church after the Mass, this little kid came in with his mother was very cute. His name is Kevin and he is seven and three quarter years old. All through the time when his mother was purchasing, he was talking and laughing to himself. He tried to stuff all the t-shirts that his mother had purchased in his inside pockets. He looked like a little Santa. I started to play with him. I told him when I push his left side of the stomach, he’ll have to say something. So, we’re playing and laughing, at one point I was tired and wanted him to shut up but he wouldn’t. So, I told him if I push the right side of the stomach, he will not talk any more. So I did. Next minute, he started talking and laughing again? I asked him why? He told me there’s a timer on him that it turns itself on. O, my gosh, a little 7 years old kid out smarted me!! Little Kevin made me so happy that day. :D

As I was driving home from work, this car drove right beside me with the window opened and music full blasted. I turned to see who is the idiot. I saw this guy moving his neck back and forth singing out loud. I mean out LOUD! It reminded me of the moving turtle that I bought in Cuba. I laughed. What was he trying to proof? I felt like throwing something at him for disturbing the peace. Hee Hee!

New toy

We bought 3 sets of stainless steel solar garden lights from the Shopping Channel. My husband assembled the lights and plugged them in the garden. It looks a bit strange because it gives out white light. The style is very modern with the stainless steel top and body. The stick that goes in the ground is hard plastic. It comes in a set of 3 for $50 can. Do u think we pay too much? Put them out directly under the sun during the day and place them where ever you want at night. I’ll find out how bright they are in couple days after it has been fully charged by the sun.
